About Kenya

Nairobi is the Capital City of Kenya, and the principle economic, administrative and cultural centre. With a current population of about 3 million people, Nairobi started of as a camp for railway construction workers in the late 1800's. Kenya’s tourism contributes significantly to the economy and has become the country's principal source of foreign exchange. Tourists, the largest number from Germany and the United Kingdom, are attracted mainly to the coastal beaches and the game reserves, notably, the expansive Tsavo National Park in the southeast. Tourism has seen a substantial revival over the past several years and is the major contributor to the pick-up in the country’s economic growth.
